John James Fuellas, 90, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 26 at his residence. Born in North Kohala, he was a retired park guide at Lapakahi State Historical Park, tractor operator for Kohala Sugar Co. and member of the Kohala Senior Citizens Club, Kohala Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, St. Michael’s and Sacred Heart Catholic churches. Services at a later date. Survived by daughters, Myrna (Robin) Amarino of Holualoa and Janis (Kerry) Kanetani of Kurtistown; brother, Ben (Helen) Fuellas of Honolulu; sister, Shirley Uchima of Hilo; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Etsuko (Shishido) Ishii, 91, of Los Angeles died Aug. 21 in Los Angeles. Born in Olaa, she was a retired clerk at Vons Supermarket and a homemaker. No services. Burial at Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Survived by son, Darryl Ken (Yolanda) Ishii of Hilo; daughters, Dayle (Harvey) Funai of Seattle and Debby Ann (James) Uyeda of Los Angeles; sisters, Setsuko Sato of Los Angeles, Miyako Kuniyoshi and Fujie Shishido of Hilo; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.

Kay Lorraine Jung, 78, of Waimea died Aug. 23 at her home. Born at Fort Meade, S.D., she worked in human resources at Warner Electric in Marengo, Ill., for 25 years. Services at noon Thursday, Sept. 10, at Osheim &Schmidt Funeral Home in Rapid City, S.D., followed by procession to Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, S.D. Sarah Kaili Kahele, 87, of Hilo died Aug. 20 in Hilo. Born in South Kona, she was a retired certified nursing assistant at Life Care Center of Hilo. Survived by sons, William Kahele (Ruth Kahele), Kimo King (Paulette Iopa) and Jordan Kahele; daughters, Germaine Kila (Allan Kila Jr.) and Harollyn Kahe‘e; goddaughter, Shirley Casuga (Pete); sister, Maggie Basinga; sisters-in-law, Pearl Llanes and Mona Paulo; 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Oliver Kazuyoshi Sekimura, 97, of Hilo died Aug. 22 at a care home. Born in Hilo, he was retired from Isemoto Contracting Co. Ltd., a U.S. Army World War II veteran and member of Hilo Meishoin.
