Twenty-six new COVID-19 cases have been reported on Hawaii Island today, while the total number of cases statewide dropped from yesterday.

The state Department of Health has reported 265 new cases statewide today — fewer than yesterday’s total of 306 — bringing the cumulative case total to 7,830. The cumulative total for the Big Island is 279, while the total for Oahu is 7,147.

According to data from the Hawaii District Health Office, there are currently 95 active cases on the Big Island, while 157 Big Island cases have recovered.

The DoH has also reported that the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the state has increased by four since yesterday, bringing the total to 59. Details about those deaths were not available.
