DOH reports 215 new cases of COVID-19, 11 in Hawaii County

The state Department of Health reported 215 new cases of COVID-19 statewide today. That brings the statewide number of coronavirus cases in Hawaii since the pandemic began to 6,984.

According to DOH, 11 of the new cases are on the Big Island, bringing Hawaii County’s total to 220 cases.

The City and County of Honolulu reported 201 new cases, and now has 6,382 cases, Maui County had three new cases bringing its total to 303, and Kauai County had no new cases, and remains at 56 cases overall.

Twenty-three of the cases are of Hawaii residents who were reported infected from outside the state.

So far, 419 cases have required hospitalization and the death toll remains at 49 statewide.

DOH reports that 2,236 individuals have been released from isolation as “recovered.”
