Police: Two hospitalized after domestic-related shooting

Police say a 25-year-old man and 18-year-old woman were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after an early Saturday morning domestic-related shooting in Glenwood.

According to police, officers responded at about 3:45 a.m. to a report two people shot inside a vehicle near the area of Highway 11 and Oshiro Road.

While officers were en route to the scene, police received information the injured people were with Hawaii Fire Department personnel in Keaau.

Both victims were taken by ambulance to the Hilo Medical Center, where they underwent surgery and were later reported in stable condition.

Hilo Criminal Investigation Section detectives are investigating the shooting.
