Joseph “Joe” Gonsalves Branco, 93, of Honokaa died July 26. Born in Kalopa, Hawaii, he was a retired harvesting supervisor for the former Hamakua Sugar Co. and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Private services held. Survived by wife, Mary Angelo Branco of Honokaa; daughters, Donna (Rogers) De Luz of Paauilo and Sandra (Gordon) Dias of Honokaa; sister-in-law, Minnie Branco of California; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Lesley Lorraine Carter, 55, of Keaau died Aug. 1 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Anchorage, Alaska, she was the owner-operator of L&L Construction and member of Fleet Reserve Association Branch 46 Honolulu. Private family services held. Jeanette Akiko Maesaka, 80, of Hilo died Aug. 6 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Kealakekua, she was a retired executive assistant for American Electric. Marilyn “Ginger” Virginia Sizemore, 76, of Ocean View died July 25 at home. Born in Tulsa, Okla., she was the former owner of several boutiques and collectible art stores in Honolulu, an artist, jewelry designer and member of Ocean View Evangelical Church.
