Paul Ellis Bueltmann Jr., 79, of Pahoa died July 22 at home. Born in St. Louis, he was a retired civil service worker at Kaneohe Marine Corps Air Station on Oahu, U.S. Navy veteran, member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and ham radio operator, call sign KH6GKK. Private services. Buried at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Survived by wife, Jinny Apique Bueltmann of Pahoa; son, Paul Ellis Bueltmann III of Keaau; daughter, Jinny Ann (Hizson) Tripp of Hilo; brother, Richard (Gloria) Bueltmann of Winfiled, Mich.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Hosea Apele Kalua‘u, 78, of Kalaoa, Kona, died July 26 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamura Hale. Born in Kalaoa, he was a cowboy for Huehue Ranch, bus driver and diesel mechanic for Gray Line Tours, member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and U.S. Army veteran.
