DOH reports 118 new COVID-19 cases today, 2 on Big Island

The state Department of Health reported 118 new COVID-19 cases today. That raises the overall statewide total to 3,756.

Today’s new cases include 133 on Oahu, two on Hawaii Island and four on Maui and Kauai, according to DOH.

One cases was re-categorized from Honolulu to the Big Island, and one Honolulu case was removed from the counts, the health department said.

Hawaii County Civil Defense said this morning that there are 16 active Big Island cases, none requiring hospitalization.

The overall statewide case total includes 3,361 on Oahu, 190 in Maui County, 133 in Hawaii County, and 49 in Kauai County, according to health officials.

The total also includes 23 Hawaii residents diagnosed outside of the state.

DOH said 3,408 of the cases reported statewide, so far, or 94%, involve residents.

According to DOH, 251 cases, about 7% have required hospitalization.

As of today, 1,627 patients now classified as “released from isolation.”
