DOH: 152 new coronavirus cases Sunday, three on Big Island

The state Department of Health reported 152 new COVID-19 cases Sunday. That raises the overall statewide total to 3,498.

Today’s new cases include 147 on Oahu, three on Big Island and one each on Maui and Kauai, according to DOH.

Hawaii County Civil Defense said this morning that there are 12 active Big Island cases.

There have been 31 deaths, so far, 24 on Oahu, six on Maui, and one a Kauai resident who died on the mainland.

The overall statewide case total includes 3,111 on Oahu, 185 in Maui County, 131 in Hawaii County, and 48 in Kauai County, according to health officials.

The total also includes 23 Hawaii residents diagnosed outside of the state.

As of today, 1,919 individuals are known to be active cases, with a total of 1,548 patients now classified as “released from isolation,” about 44%. Thirty-seven of those were new release cases reported today.
