Fusaye “Janet” Yamamoto Arakawa, 97, of Pahoa died July 18 in Hilo. Born in Pahoa, she was a retired office clerk from the former Hashimoto Nursery and member of Puna Hongwanji Mission Kyodan and Buddhist Women’s Association, Higashi Machi Kumiai and Pahoa Nikkei Jin Kai. Private services for the family at a later date. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by daughters, Claire Arakawa of Pahoa, Cindy (John Cole) Arakawa of Seattle; sister-in-law, Hideko Arakawa of Honolulu; grandson, Alec (Betsy Waring) Cole of New York; great-granddaughter, Layla Cole; numerous nieces and nephews. The Rev. Paula Toto, 67, of Keaau died June 22 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Tonga, he was a retired pastor of the Church of Tonga. Private services held. Survived by wife, Lisia Toto of Keaau; sons, Kevini Toto of Tonga and Sateki (Faatafuna) Toto of Keaau; daughters, Kasanit Maile of Tonga and Melenaite (Paea) Lavemai of Keaau; brothers, Mofuike Toto of New Zealand and Lomanipau (Seini) Toto of Texas; sisters, Fongolua and Nancy of Tonga; nine grandchildren; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Arrangements by Ballard Family Mortuary.

Visitation for the late Paul Keohuloa is from 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel with memorial service/celebration of life at 10:30 a.m. Visitation end time was incorrect in an obituary published Tuesday. The Tribune-Herald regrets the error. Mr. Keohuloa is survived by, among others, sisters-in-law, Jane D. Mock of Kansas, Mary Ann Dela Cruz and Pat Yamamoto of Hilo, Sally Dela Cruz of Naalehu. Their relationship to the deceased was incorrectly submitted.
