The BIIF athletic directors held a meeting Thursday but nothing significant came about.

The HHSAA, the governing body for the five leagues, extended the suspension of all practices until return-to-play guidelines are adopted for the reopening of facilities and workouts.

The start of school date is Aug. 4.

The BIIF can still push the start of fall sports back to September. The sports include four (air riflery, bowling, cheerleading, and cross country) that seemingly can be run with social-distancing measures.

The tricky situation is football and girls volleyball, where players are in close proximity to each other.

“With the date and space, we can make it work, if we push the start back to September,” Hawaii Prep athletic director Stephen Perry said. “But a lot is unknown. We don’t know what’s up the road. Everybody was checking in. That’s all we did.”
