Retired police detective Brian Miller, 56, of Hilo turned himself in to authorities just after 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the East Hawaii Detention Facility.
Miller was arrested and charged on the strength of a grand jury indictment and was released after posting $50,000 bail.
The indictment alleges intimidating a witness, tampering with a witness, retaliating against a witness, terroristic threatening in the second degree and harassment. This all stems from a May 14 incident in Hilo.
Miller’s next court appearance is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday in Kona Circuit Court.
