DOH reports 19 new COVID-19 cases; Oahu case count now exceeds 1,000

The state Department of Health reports 19 new cases of COVID-19 statewide as of noon today.

The statewide total of cases is now 1,311.

Of the new cases, 16 are on Oahu, and three are pending release of geographical origin.

The total case number in the City and County of Honolulu has now exceeded 1,000, at 1,002.

Maui County has the second-highest case total, with 135 cases.

Hawaii County now has 107 reported cases, while Kauai County’s case total remains at 43.

Hawaii County Civil Defense reported today the Big Island has nine active cases.

Twenty-one cases, overall, have been of Hawaii residents diagnosed while out of state.

So far, 137 of Hawaii’s cases have required hospitalization, and there have been 22 deaths statewide.

A total of 975 individuals have been released from isolation as recovered, according to DOH.
