DOH reports 29 new coronavirus cases statewide, 2 on Big Island

The state Department of Health reports 29 new cases of COVID-19 statewide as of noon today.

The statewide total of cases is now 1,292, as updated information removed one Oahu case from the count.

Of the new cases, 27 are on Oahu, and two are on the Big Island.

The total case number in the City and County of Honolulu is 986.

Maui County has the second-highest case total, with 135 cases.

Hawaii County now has 107 reported cases, while Kauai County’s case total remains at 43.

Twenty-one cases, overall, have been of Hawaii residents diagnosed while out of state.

So far, 137 of Hawaii’s cases have required hospitalization, and there have been 22 deaths statewide.

A total of 951 individuals have been released from isolation as recovered, with 30 patients having been released today, according to DOH.
