Windell “Ray” Berry, 82, of Kailua-Kona died July 2 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born in Silverton, Texas, he was a retired insurance agency owner, former commissioner and constable of Potter County in Amarillo, Texas, and U.S. Navy veteran. Private service held. No flowers. Memorial donations to Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity or Hospice of Kona. Survived by wife, Patricia Berry of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Dawn Roberts of Texas; sons, Robin Berry and Colyn Berry of Texas; brothers, Gene Berry, Keith Berry and Jimmy Berry of Texas; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. John Ioane Kekahuna, 68, of Pahoa died June 21. Born on Lanai, he was a lei maker and owner of Hawaiian Style Lei, founder of Makuu Farmers Market, member of Makuu Farmers Hawaiian Homestead Association and Hawaii National Guard veteran. Celebration of life 10:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 25, at Kekahuna Hale, 15-1118 Kekuewa St. in Pahoa. Lunch to follow. Survived by wife, Paula Kekahuna; children and hanai children, Phillip (Ann K.) Kekahuna, Ioane (Brianne D.) Kekahuna, Lauae (Haili P.) Kekahuna and Melekahana (Trevor L.) Narcisa Gaspar Yagin, 82, of Paauilo died June 17 at Hale Ho‘ola Hamakua in Honokaa. Born in Banna, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a retired housekeeper for Fairmont Orchid Hotel. Visitation 8-10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 18, at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church in Paauilo. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow in church cemetery. Casual attire; face masks required. Survived by sons, Kim (Amy) Go of Paauilo, Danny Gaspar of Ookala, Alex (Melinda) Yagin of Paauilo and Wilson Gaspar of Las Vegas; daughter, Teresita (Hilario) Yabut of Las Vegas; brother, Miguel (Rosaline) Gaspar of Paauilo; sister, Rosaria Tabucbuc of Paauilo; 17 grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Rodney Kuahiwinui Sr., 44, of South Point died July 1 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kealakeua, he was the owner of Kala‘e Historic Cultural Tours, a fisherman and rancher, worked for Ka‘u Ice &Fishing Supplies, Bob Taylor Construction Co. and BJ Excavation and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Naalehu. Celebration of life at a later date with face masks and social distancing required. Survived by wife, Suzie Kuahiwinui of South Point; sons, Kaukani (Kauwila) Waiwaiole and Rodney Kuahiwinui Jr. of Hawaii; daughters, Rodalynn (Chaseten) Kuahiwinui and Samantha (Jordan) Kuahiwinui of Hawaii; sisters, Nora (Donny) Lance and Emma S. Alfred Pabilona Sr., 93, of Pepeekeo died June 3 at home. Born in Pepeekeo, he was a retired tractor operator for the former Mauna Kea Agribusiness Co., member of International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU), an aikido club member and sensei and was in the Merchant Marine during World War II. Private services. Survived by wife, Matalia Pabilona of Pepeekeo; sons, Alfred Pabilona Jr. and Bradley Pabilona of Pepeekeo; daughter, Zenda Pabilona of Pepeekeo; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Alfred Pacatang Sr. died June 29. Among his survivors are son, Alfred Pacatang Jr. Suffixes to their names were not submitted for an obituary published Wednesday.
