Matthew Keliiholokai Gomes, 60, of Hilo died June 25 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he owned Mangotree Mechanic’s and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Private services. Survived by wife, Nancy Blanchard; stepsons, Isaac (Cristina) Blanchard and Joseph Blanchard; sisters, Elizabeth (Donald) Leopoldino, Marleen L. (Glen) Keanu, Victoria Naeole, Mabel (Bryan) Ho and Lynn (Drake) Miyasato; brothers, William (Jill) Ma-e, Henry (Jackie) Ma-e, John (Emily) Ma-e, Maliano (Sharon) Keliiholokai, John (Vanessa) Keliiholokai and Solomon (Mingtoy) Keliiholokai; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Jean S. Griswold, 78, of Hilo died July 3 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. She was born in Princeton, N.J. No services. Survived by husband, Robert G. Thelma Lavern Martin, 87, of Hilo, formerly of Honokaa, died May 25 at Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Kalopa, she was a retired cashier for the former Sure Save Supermarkets and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa and Hawaii County Elderly Activities Honokaa Senior Center. Private services held. Survived by daughter, Yolanda Faith M. Keehne of Hilo; sons, Roger Raleigh (Joyce Cale) Martin of Glenwood and Tommy Gerard Martin of Honokaa; brother, Harold Camara of Sacramento, Calif.; sister, Betty Jose of Honokaa; sister-in-law, Vivian Kubo of Hilo; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Bryan Fenton Ward, 45, of Kailua-Kona died June 17 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honokaa, he was a cook for Pine Tree Cafe and numerous hotels and restaurants. Services at a later date.
