DOH reports 36 new cases of COVID-19 statewide, one on Big Island

The state Department of Health reports 36 new cases of COVID-19 statewide as of noon today, the day after the pandemic’s peak daily reported number of 41 new cases.

The statewide total of cases is now 1,130.

Of those new cases, 34 are in the City and County of Honolulu, bringing the Oahu total of cases to 842.

There is one new case in Kauai County, where the total number of cases is now 43, and another on the Big Island, which has a total of 97 cases, with eight of those cases active.

Maui County also has no new cases, and its total number of cases remains at 1301111.

Eighteen cases, overall, have been of Hawaii residents diagnosed while out of state.

So far, 123 of Hawaii’s cases have required hospitalization, and there have been 19 deaths.

A total of 840 individuals have been released from isolation as recovered. according to DOH.
