Erdinio Namnama Bautista, 72, of Keaau died May 7 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Nueva Era, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a macadamia nut picker and a member of the New Hope Filipino Ministry. Visitation 5-6 p.m. Friday, July 10, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 6 p.m. Face masks and social distancing required. Graveside service 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section. Survived by wife, Felicitas Bautista of Keaau; daughters, Kharen (Alex) Alunday and Sharlyn (Jayson) Aguibay of Keaau; sons, Harris (Citadel) Bautista and Lesley (Anielyn) Bautista of Keaau; brothers, Severino (Lourdes) Bautista and Juanito (Josephine) Bautista of Honolulu, Silverio (Maria Salve) Bautista, Samuel (Pacita) Bautista, Irineo (Hilda) Bautista, Larry (Anna Grace) Bautista and Elmer (Margie) Bautista of Keaau; sister, Delia (Manuel) Prado of Keaau; seven grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews. Edwin DeSa Jr., 63, of Pepeekeo died May 17 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a press operator for the Hawaii Tribune-Herald, part owner of the former DeSa’s Water Service and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Closed-casket visitation 8-9 a.m. Monday (July 6) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire. Charles “Chuck” Leslie Martin, 78, of Hilo died June 25 at home. Born in Denver, he was a retired commercial airline pilot, owner of the former Pau Hana Lounge bar and member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Loyal Order of Moose and Ancient Order of Foresters. Survived by companion, Geri Creech of Hilo; daughters, Jennifer Martin of Denver, Robin Bradbury of Texas, Allison Kaua and Laurie Waiau of Hilo; son, Alton Penrose of Hilo; three grandchildren. Rizalino Pasion Namnama, 94, of Keaau died April 8 at home. Born in Nueva Era, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a papaya picker for AMFAC Tropical Products and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial 10:30 a.m. at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section. survived by wife, Lapaz Namnama of Keaau; sons, Rodrigo (Medelina) Namnama, Abraham (Delia) Namnama, Lightner (Marjorie) Namnama and Silvano (Imelda Gertrudes) Namnama of Hawaiian Paradise Park; daughters, Romana (Pedro Jr.) Miguel of Keaau, Medita “Medy” Namnama (Tito) Padamada of Hawaiian Paradise Park and Remy (Louie Miguel) Namnama of Honolulu; 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews. Calvin “Cal” Katsuichi Shindo, 73, of Hilo died June 1 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he owned Hilo Soda Works and Mehana Brewing Co., was employed by Alert Alarm Hawaii, a veteran of the U.S. Army and Hawaii Army National Guard, member of Honomu Henjoji Mission, Waiakea Pirates Athletic Club, former member of Hilo Jaycees and other community organizations. Private services held. Survived by wife, Karen Shindo of Hilo; sons, Dustin Shindo and Ryan (Lois) Shindo of Honolulu; mother, Tamae Shindo of Hilo; sister, Sandra (Melvin) Kawahara of Hilo; five grandchildren; brothers- and sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
