The Hawaii Public Housing Authority announced last week that it has eight studio units and three one-bedroom units of affordable rental housing available at the agency’s Pahala property to assist those in the community affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The COVID-19 pandemic is undoubtedly one of the most life-changing events that we have seen in modern times,” said the housing authority’s executive director Hakim Ouansafi. “During this time of emergency, the HPHA stands ready to continue to assist our most disadvantaged populations with safe, decent and sanitary affordable housing.”

Call the office at 933-0474 to request an application. Completed applications can be sent to Hawaii Public Housing Authority, 600 Wailoa St., Hilo, HI 96720.

The HPHA is the sole statewide public housing agency in Hawaii, providing a variety of affordable housing to low-income families.
