Joseph “Joe” B. Alleman, 89, of Hilo died April 8 at home. Born in Church Point, La., he was a retired surgery paramedical assistant at Hilo Medical Center, member of Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou and U.S. Air Force veteran during the Korean War. Private services. Survived by son, Jeffery Alleman of Las Vegas; daughter, Brenda Maria (Joe) Binder of Spokane, Wash.; brother, James Allen (Beverly) Alleman of Louisiana; sister, Rita (Johnny) La Vergne of Louisiana; grandchildren, hanai children, nieces and nieces. Yaeko Hakoda, 94, of Keauhou died June 5 at home. Born in Kainaliu, she was a retired secretary for Hakoda’s Appliance. Private services at a later date. Survived by sons, Elvin Hakoda and Wayne (Darlene) Hakoda of Keauhou; daughters, Karen (Glen) Shibuya and Jan (Carl) Nakamoto of Honolulu; brothers, Masao Nakamoto and Yasuo (Chiyoko) Nakamoto of Kailua-Kona, Junichi (Shirley) Nakamoto of Kealakekua, George (Norma) Nakamoto of Kainaliu; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Earl Edman Lamson II, 70, of Captain Cook died June 2 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in La Junta, Colo., he was a retired airframe and powerplant mechanic, former small airplane repair business owner, bricklayer, commercial salmon fisherman and farmer. Private service at a later date. Survived by wife, Gail Lamson of Captain Cook; daughter, Tori (Barry) Brandon of Anchorage, Alaska; son, Earl (Zhenia Ball) Lamson III of Beaverton, Ore.; brothers, Orville (Nancy) Lamson of Big Lake, Alaska, and Lewis (Patti) Lamson of Eagle River, Alaska; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
