Two new cases of COVID-19 reported today, one on Oahu, the other on Maui

The state Department of Health reports two new COVID-19 cases in Hawaii today, making the statewide case count 655 according to the state Department of Health.

One new case is in the City and County of Honolulu, bringing the Oahu total to 424 cases. The other case is a Lanai resident who contracted the coronavirus on Maui and is staying on Maui for the time being, bringing Maui County’s total to 119.

Hawaii County’s total remains 81 cases with all having been released from isolation as recovered. Only one Big Island case required hospitalization.

Kauai County’s total has remained at 20 for weeks.

Hawaii’s statewide case total includes 10 residents diagnosed outside the state.

The statewide death toll from coronavirus-related illness remains at 17, with 11 on Oahu and six on Maui.

The number of statewide cases requiring hospitalization is 83.

There have been 611 cases statewide that have been released from isolation as recovered, according to DOH. That number has been adjusted downward, according to recording criteria.
