Cara-Joy “Keani” Keaniani Ku Garmon, 45, of Hilo died March 31 at home. Born in Durham, N.C., she was a homemaker. Services will be held at a later date. Survived by daughter, Kelis of Hilo; son, Mokuhou of Hilo; father, Gary (Theone) of Waimea; mother, Sylvia of Ohio; sisters, Alohi of Waimea and Wena-Ula (Ryan) of Illinois; hanai sister, Amy Mills of Waimea; hanai brothers, Kory Kalei (Cherish) Mills of Arizona and Brandon Borges of Hilo; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Kilburn “Kibby” Whitney Mililani Mills, 65, of Volcano died May 1. Born in Honolulu, he was the owner and operator of a fencing business, retired in 2015, and enjoyed gardening, landscaping and making knives. Scattering of his ashes will be at Punalu‘u, Oahu, at a later date. Survived by wife, Ronna Mills; daughter, Malie Fernandez; brother, Kimo (Linda) Mills; sister, Pua (Bill) Ka‘ai; nephews, nieces, and cousins. Arrangements by Ballard Family Mortuary Hilo.

Richard “Dick” Charles Rhodes, 72, of Keaau died April 11. Born in 1947, he attended Zion Benton Township High School in Illinois and the Milwaukee School of Engineering, worked for Milwaukee Operating Engineers, was a member of the Lake County and Cook County Operating Engineers Union Local 150 before retiring to Hawaii, and was a member of three softball teams: the Kupuna League Papaikou Seniors, the Punatics, and the Hui o Na Kolohe. Survived by wife, Sandi Rhodes; two sons, Scott Rhodes and David Rhodes; one daughter, Shelley Rhodes; one brother, Bob Rhodes of Hilo; one sister, Linda Brown of Wisconsin; and four grandchildren.

The late Teruko “Terry” Kaneshiro lived in Halawa, Kohala, and was survived by, among others, four great-grandchildren. Incorrect information was submitted for an obituary published Friday.
