The weekly farmers market and food pantry at Cooper Center in Volcano have resumed.

Mayor Harry Kim told the Tribune-Herald on Thursday the unexpected closure of the farmers market Sunday was because of miscommunication between the county and the Cooper Center Council.

“We’ll take the blame for that one,” Kim said.

Kim said the park itself remains closed because of the COVID-19 crisis, but the market and food pantry events will still be conducted provided participants wear masks, practice proper sanitation measures and observe social distancing guidelines.
