Local students named to Pacific University dean’s list

Several students from Hilo were named to the dean’s list at Pacific University for the fall 2019 semester.

Those students receiving the honor were Kyleigh Corpuz, Alexia Iwamoto, Makenna Mahuna, Kiki Motta, Cecily Poai and Sam Rapoza.

The dean’s list honors undergraduate students in the university’s College of Arts and Sciences who earn a grade-point average of at least 3.5.

Gomes accepted to Culver-Stockton College

Congratulations to Trey Gomes of Honokaa on being accepted into Culver-Stockton College’s incoming class for the fall 2020 semester.

Gomes is a senior at Honokaa High School. He also was awarded the Promise Scholarship, a $6,000 per year scholarship for four years. This scholarship is awarded based upon academic credentials and is renewable provided the student remains in good academic standing.

Culver-Stockton College, located in Canton, Mo., is a four-year residential institution in affiliation with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
