The state Department of Health said as of noon today there are 72 confirmed cases of COVID-19 coronavirus in Hawaii, including two more Big Island cases, bringing Hawaii County’s total to five.

There are also five so-called “presumptive positive” COVID-19 cases in the state, which, if confirmed, would bring the total to 77 cases.

DOH said 61 of the cases involve Hawaii residents.

The majority, 49, cases are on Oahu, with travel or contact with a traveler is the risk factor in 47 cases statewide, and only one case has no travel history.

The cause of the virus in 29 cases is unknown.
