Police investigating graffiti threat at Hilo Intermediate School

Police and Hilo Intermediate School authorities are investigating a graffiti threat discovered today at the school.

It has not been determined when the threat was written. School authorities are remaining on alert, and at this time there are no changes being made to the school schedule.

There is an increased police presence at the school for the safety of students, faculty and staff .

Police said the threat is being taken seriously and will be investigated to the fullest extent of the law.

A Nixle alert sent just prior to the Hilo Intermediate School notice that reported the graffiti threat was at Hilo High School was in error, according to Capt. Kenneth Quiocho, the Hilo Patrol Division commander.
