Robert Akuna Victor Bell, 88, of Waimea died Feb. 20 at Hale Ho‘ola Hamakua in Honokaa. Born in Waimea, he was a retired electrical technician at Pohakuloa Training Area, former pastor at the former Maili Assembly of God Church on Oahu and member of Imiola Congregational Church. Visitation 9-11. Saturday (Feb. 29) at Imiola Congregational Church in Waimea. Celebration of life at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at church cemetery. Casual attire. Survived by son, Matthew (Kuuipo) J.K. Bell of Waimea; daughters, Gwen “Tweettie” (Ira) Bell of Oahu, Blossom Bell of Oahu and Kimberly (Scott) M. Claravel Mercado Escobar, 24, of Kailua-Kona died Feb. 6 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a receptionist for Kanaloa resorts and member of River of Life Assembly of God Church in Naalehu. Services held. Franklin “Frank” Edward Hammer, 72, of Keaau died Jan. 3 at home. Born in Cincinnati, he was an anesthesiologist at Hilo Medical Center and Hilo Surgical Center, member of Glad Tidings Church and U.S. Army Medical Corps veteran.
