Belinda Isabella Kauwa “Yabu” Polido, 56, of Hilo died Dec. 14 at Hilo Medical Center. Bon in Pahala, she was a cashier and stock clerk for Kadota Liquor and Manono Mini Mart, mixer supervisor for the former Hilo Macaroni Factory and member of Pahala Door of Faith Church. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service/celebration of life at 6 p.m. Casual attire. Survived by brothers, Solomon Polido of Hilo, Edward (Sandra) Polido and Rick (Erika) Polido of Pahala, Ken (Jo Anne) Polido of Kurtistown; sisters, Susan Lebehn, Madelina (Edward) Martinez, Elizabeth Polido, Gay (Frank) Polido Scott, Marilyn Polido and Lorna Kay (Raymond) Polido-Kalili of Pahala, Ruth (William) Kahele of Hilo and Rachel Kaholoa‘a of Kona; nieces and nephews. Veda Elise Thompson Shimaoka, 64, of Keaau died Feb. 4 in Keaau. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker and former caregiver. Private services. Survived by husband, Oliver Shimaoka of Keaau; sister, Mari (Arthur) Jensen of Glen Mills, Pa.; two nephews. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Bernard Yoshio Urabe, 73, of Hilo died Jan. 23 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was an auditor for the U.S. government. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts).
