Pauline Kazuyo Nishihara Futagami, 81, of Hilo died Jan. 21 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Pepeekeo, she was a former Hilo High School English teacher. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by brothers, Clarence (Leanne) Nishihara of Temecula, Calif., and William (Agrifina) Nishihara of Hilo; sisters, Sadako Cecelia Shimai of Honolulu and Nancy O’Connor of Hilo; a niece. Jeye Kulamanu Hiwahiwa Tam Moore, 82, of Hilo died Dec. 23 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she was retired from civil service as a court reporter for the U.S. Air Force, guardian ad litem for the foster youth care system in Hilo, U.S Air Force veteran, member of the ‘Ula La Red Hat Society and Sure Foundation Church, and Castle High School Class of 1955 alumna. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 15) at Sure Foundation Church in Keaau. Celebration of life at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by daughters, Denise (Carl) Honeycutt of Benbrook, Texas, Dannette (Larry) Ramirez of Kent, Wash., and Deborah (Patrick) Cox of Arizona; brothers, Mark (Joyce) Tam of San Francisco, and Dennis (Chery) Tam of Casa Grande, Ariz.; sisters, Kulamanu Jones of Kailua-Kona and Tamar (Diego) Gonzalez of Las Vegas; half-sister, Piialoha Gonsalves of Honolulu; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Florence H. Yamada, 86, of Honolulu, formerly of Hilo, died Jan. 19 in Honolulu. She was born in Hilo. Private service held. She is survived by her children, sons, Craig Fujii and Derrick Fujii; daughters, Kathy (Howard) Chung, Teri (JR) Parel, Stacey Yamada, Kara Yamada and Grace (John Hausler) Yamada; brothers, Masayuki (Thelma) Mitsuda and Kenneth Yoneda; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
