Born in El Paso, Texas he was a retired business editor for the former Honolulu Advertiser, previously served as the paper’s managing editor, global newspaper technology consultant, worked for newspapers in Illinois and Indiana, was vice chairman of Hawaii Judicial Selection Commission, former member of East Hawaii Regional Board of Hawaii Health Systems Corp., avid golfer and U.S. Army veteran.
