On Thursday, USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory Scientist-in-Charge Tina Neal and Hawaii County Civil Defense Administrator Talmadge Magno will talk about Mauna Loa’s current status, hazards of future eruptions, and how communities can prepare for the volcano’s next eruption.

An update on Hawaii County’s Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan and an opportunity to sign up to receive emergency messaging will also be provided.

This presentation begins at 6 p.m. in the Ocean View Community Center, 92-8924 Leilani Circle, Hawaiian Ocean View Estates.
