Maria Lucas Panag, 91, of Kapaau died Jan. 5 at home. Born in Piddig, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a retired nursery worker for Kohala Nursery and member of Kohala Senior Citizens and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation 8:30-10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi. Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawi County Cemetery. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Survived by sons, Virgilio (Virginia) Raquiza of Hawi, Reynald (Martha) Raquiza of Waimea and Marcos (Remi) Raquiza of Kapaau; daughter, Marybel (Jaime) Macaspac of Kapaau; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dennis Ralph Pearson Sr., 78, of Ocean View died Jan. 6 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Dallas, Ore., he was a former maintenance man at the King Kamehameha Hotel, former police officer, member of International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 142 and U.S. Coast Guard veteran. No services planned. Survived by sons, Graylen (Jessica) Kaleohano of Hilo and Dennis Pearson Jr. of Oahu; daughter, Kimberly Pearson of Ocean View; sister, Thelma (Joseph) Brasseur of Oregon; sister-in-law, Ruth Pearson of Oregon; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
