Anna Marie Carlos, 64, of Pahoa, died Dec. 21 at home. Born in Honolulu, she was a homemaker. Private services held. Survived by sons, Dennis J. Balgas Jr. of Honolulu and Sonny K. Balgas of Mountain View; daughters, Leilani (Hopili) Mulleitner of Pearl City, Oahu, and Patricia Aukai of Texas; brother, Jules Carlos of Ocean View; sister, Bernadette Addison of Mililani, Oahu; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Robert De Vera, 56, of Hilo died Dec. 27. He was born on Oahu. Celebration of life at a later date on Oahu. James Yoshio Hatami, 81, of Hilo died Jan. 9 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired supervisor for Matson Navigation Co. and was employed by Aloha Security. Michael Lee Lai, 60, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 24 at Kona Community Hospital. Haruko Nakayama, 95, of Hilo died Dec. 19 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Chung Ok Helen Young, 98, of Hilo, died Jan. 1 at home. The late Edgar Quimoyog Aurelio is survived by, among others, sister in-law, Marilyn Aurelio of Hilo. Her name wasn’t submitted for an obituary published Tuesday.
