‘There will be pain’
The top 10 states that are the most fiscally responsible are run by conservatives in nine out of 10 cases. The bottom 10 most fiscally irresponsible are run by liberals in nine out of 10 cases.
The top 10 have fiscal surpluses for its citizens (plus $74,200 to plus $700); the bottom 10 have deficits for its citizens (minus $65,000 to minus $19,000). Google “Truth in Accounting” and download their 136-page report.
Hawaii is ranked at No. 46 with a taxpayer burden of minus $31,200 and a financial grade of “F,” and is run by the Democrats.
All this debt is for our unfunded liabilities covering benefits for our state workers. I don’t blame the workers; this mess was created by the politicians who gave them generous pensions for generous votes.
Keep in mind county governments might or might not have similar fiscal disasters looming.
This debt will come due at some time, and there will be pain in the form of reduced services and increased taxes. We can mitigate this pain by working to pay off this debt now, but what politician has that kind of courage?
Citizens can avoid the pain by moving to one of the top 10 better-run states, and that will make the pain even greater for those who stay.

Abortion is ‘murder’
Jan. 20 marks the 47-year-old genocide anniversary of Roe vs. Wade of 1973.
Since the evilest day in American history, when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled innocent preborn babies could be legally executed for committing no crimes against humanity, some 60 million preborn children have been murdered by their parents.
The states of Hawaii and New York have the infamous distinction of having helpless children being legally suctioned to death starting in March of 1970.
Here in our city there is the Hilo Community Surgery Center, where up to 25 preborn babies per week are murdered by resident abortion doctors.
This local genocide continues daily, weekly, monthly and yearly, because there is no moral action from the religious community and even no humanity action from nonprofit human service organizations. They simply don’t care, but they do hold out their hands for the monetary support from the people to remain in business.
How much more time will pass before the so-called “protectors” of human life will come out into the public arena to stand in the gap in protecting the lives of the most helpless, defenseless, powerless and voiceless of all human beings — preborn babies.
There is now plenty of space near the entrance of the Hilo Community Surgery Center for these human life protectors to demonstrate their commitment in protecting the lives of preborn children.
