Lavinia Alcain-Denison, 58, of Kealakekua died Dec. 12 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kealakekua, she was a volunteer at Kona Krafts. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 11) at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Honaunau. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Casual attire; loose flowers welcome. Larry Richard Baird, 73, of Captain Cook died Dec. 23 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Claresholm, Alberta, Canada, he was a real estate appraiser. Private services at a later date. Denis Noboru Higa, 66, of Waimea died Dec. 24 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Japan, he was a bartender at Fairway Villas Waikoloa by Outrigger Waikoloa and member of Unite Here Local 5 union.
