Frederick “Fred” Eugene Capellas, 81, of Sacramento, Calif., formerly of Pahala, died Nov. 24 in Sacramento. Born in Waimea, Kauai, he was a retired teacher for Sacramento City College, U.S. Army veteran and classic car and bonsai enthusiast. Memorial service 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, at Affordable Cremation, 4750 Beloit Drive, Sacramento. No flowers. Memorial donations to local animal shelter. Survived by wife, Cindy Capellas; daughters, Leslie Haynes and Lanette Capellas; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Theresa Frances Doyle, 59, of Captain Cook died Dec. 9 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Tulsa, Okla., she was a licensed practical nurse and caregiver, tile setter, macadamia nut farmer and sailor. Celebration of life 10 a.m. today at Mahana Beach, Ka Lae (South Point). Mary Malia Kealoha Tio, 93, of Hilo died Dec. 10 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Kalapana, she was a housekeeper at Hilo Seaside Hotel and Makaha Inn Hotel on Oahu. Private services held. Survived by daughter, Momilani (Michael) Epstein; sons, Vincent (Mary) Tio, Dennis Tio and Emelio (Mary) Tio; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; aunts, uncles and cousins.
