The UH-Hilo men’s basketball team shot just 33 percent from the floor and fell to Biola 74-56 on Tuesday in La Miranda, Calif.

Marqise Mosley scored 18 points, Jesse Elrod added 17, and Michael Bagatourian had 15 points for the Eagles (7-2, 3-0 PacWest), who shot 51 percent from the floor.

Sasa Vuksanovic had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, Kupaa Harrison had 14 points, and Jordan Graves added 10 points for the Vulcans (2-3, 1-2), who were outrebounded 54-29 and trailed 36-17 at halftime.

UHH shot 3 of 19 from beyond the arc and made 11 of 19 free throws.

In the first half, the Eagles led 15-12 with 11 minutes left to halftime. Then they went on a 12-0 run before a Vuksanovic free throw and follow-up basket stopped the streak.

After trailing by 24 points, the Vuls were able to cut the lead to 11 points several times in the final six minutes. But the Eagles closed the game with a 9-0 run.

UHH next plays Point Loma on Thursday.

At least the Vuls don’t have to worry about Daulton Hommes, the national player of the year. He entered the NBA draft with a year of eligibility and signed with the San Antonio Spurs G League affiliate.
