David Waimea Vaiola Aholelei, 18, of Kailua-Kona died Oct. 25 at City of Hope in California. Born in Phoenix, he attended Waikoloa School, graduated from Kealakehe High School where he was a member of the Kealakehe High School Waveriders football team and the Boy Scouts of America. Visitation 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 75-230 Kalani St., Kailua-Kona. Funeral service at 11 a.m., followed by burial at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. Survived by parents, Oke and Tricia Aholelei of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Blake (Mandy) Aholelei, Tanner Aholelei of Kailua-Kona; sister, Chantel Aholelei, of Kailua-Kona; maternal grandparents, Harry and Betty Rheingans of Phoenix; paternal grandmother, Sela Aholelei of Kailua-Kona; one nephew; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Alison Kalanipoo Aki, 68, of Waimea died Oct. 7 at her residence. Born in Honolulu, she was a residential manager at Mauna Kea Resorts and a former head housekeeper. Born in Hilo, she was a pharmacy technician for Walgreens, a former cashier for Sack ‘n Save Puainako and a former head cashier for Home Depot. Kurt Brian Kaminski, 63, of Pahoa died Oct. 20 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Woodstock, Ill., he graduated from Pahoa High School and was a general contractor and longtime member of the Puna Lions Club and the Leilani Community Association. Visitation 8:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by daughter, Megan H. Kaminski of Pahoa; son, Kevin M. Christina Lynn Lewis, 50, of Waikoloa died Oct. 24 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Charleston, Ill., she was formerly in sales and marketing with the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel. Survived by companion, Jeb Goss of Waikoloa; mother, Mary (Rick Capaldi) Lewis of Laguna Beach, Calif.; father, Martin Gene (Mary) Lewis of Springfield, Ill.; brother, Jarrod (Shelbi) Lewis of Dana Point, Calif.; paternal grandfather, Adren Lewis of Danville, Ill.; an uncle and an aunt, a cousin and two nephews. Norman “Kele” Oda, 74, of Lahaina, Maui, died died Oct. 3 at his home in Kurtistown. Born on Maui, he was a retired general contractor and woodworker. Survived by wife, Christine Oda; sons, Kula (Cori) Oda, Malino (Hillary) Oda; daughter, Juli (Jeff Heisler) Wittenmeier; sisters, Jackie Oda, Normadeene Musick; eight grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Richard E. Petty, 76, of Hilo died Oct. 15 in Hilo. Born in Raton, N.M., he worked in many areas, lived in several states and provided support services for clients at Care Hawaii. Kokimi “Kay” Takaki, 91, of Naalehu died Sept. 28 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born in Pahala, she was a homemaker and member of Naalehu Hongwanji Mission and Buddhist Women’s Association. Private services held.
