Mercedes Delos Santos Dameg, 90, of Pahala died Sept. 14 at Ka‘u Hospital. Born in Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, she a harvester for the former Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. Pahala orchard and member of Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 19) at Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire; flowers and lei welcome. Burial at church cemetery. Faye Fujiko Mihara Matsunami, 91, of Pepeekeo died Sept. 14 in Hilo. Born in Hakalau, she was retired owner-operator of the former Hakalau Beauty Salon and a member of Hilo Coast United Church of Christ. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at Hilo Coast United Church of Christ in Honomu. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Mary Kalauihilani Mendiola, 86, of Kurtistown died Sept. 19 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired school bus driver.
