UH-Hilo swept Academy of Art 25-14, 25-16, 25-20 on Thursday night in San Francisco, winning its fourth straight.

The Vulcans (9-5 overall, 4-2 PacWest) were led by Bria Beale, who had 12 kills and hit .301. Emily Wade added 10 kills and hit .326.

UHH also had nine aces. Kaila Lizama had 22 digs, and Armani Moultrie had three block assists and one solo.

Jillian Wheaton led the Urban Knights (4-10, 2-5) with nine kills. AAU hit just .146 to UHH’s .326.

In the first set, UHH took a 13-9 lead and scored 11 of the next 13 points for a 24-11 cushion. Wade had six kills and hit at a .625 clip.

The second set was tied at 9-9 before the Vuls broke away. Beale led the way with four kills.

In the third set, UHH jumped ahead of the Urban Knights from a 13-12 score to 24-17 cushion.

UHH wraps up the five-match road trip against Notre Dame de Namur on Saturday then returns for a seven-match homestand.
