Waiakea junior Lacey Uchida dominated with a 7-under 70-65—135 total at the Maui Nui Golf Club, which hosted the Junior Tour Series event.

Uchida beat Baldwin junior Lana Calibuso-Kwee by three shots in the girls 15-18 flight and jumped to second in the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association point standings while picking up her third HSJA win.

The point system is used to determine the Player of the Year, the players on the Junior America’s Cup, Asia Pacific Cup, the Eddie Hogan and Mary Cave Cup teams, and spots in the HSJGA Tournament of Champions. The HSGA season runs until December.

Uchida is the only BIIF girls golfer to participate over the weekend on the Valley Isle.

Kamehameha junior Dillon Ah Chong took third in the boys 15-18 flight with an 11-over 73-80—153 total, 10 shots behind Mid Pacific junior Jake Sequin, the defending HHSAA champion.

Ah Chong is 11th in the HSJGA standings. Waiakea senior Isaiah Kanno is third, Sequin fifth, and Hawaii Baptist Academy junior Noah Koshi is in first place.
