Ellsworth Masato Fujimoto, 71, of Hilo died July 21 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired senior district executive for Boy Scouts of America Aloha Council and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin. Private services held. No flowers or Koden (monetary gifts). Survived by wife, Gail Fujimoto of Hilo; son, Elston (Jessica) Fujimoto of Honolulu; mother-in-law, Sueko Arakawa of Pahoa; an uncle, aunt, nephews, nieces and cousins. Glenn Seiko Shiroma, 68, of Hilo died July 27 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Hilo, he was a retired real estate property manager. Private services held. Survived by wife, Faye Shiroma of Hilo; sons, Grant Shiroma of Honolulu and Ryan Shiroma of Hilo; brother, Norman (Karen) Shiroma of Kaneohe, Oahu; nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers- and sisters-in-law. Benjamin “Uncle Lolong” John Vocal, 87, Haina, Honokaa, died Aug. 2 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Ookala, he was a retired crane operator for the former Hamakua Sugar Co. and member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Laupahoehoe. Visitation 6-9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Service at 7 p.m. Visitation again 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at the church. Service at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Ookala Catholic Cemetery. Aloha attire. Survived by spouse, Paulette Vocal of Haina, Honokaa; son, Benjamin Joseph (Marada Terry) Vocal of Hilo; sister, Maria Batulanon of Ookala; a hanai granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
