Police arrested a Waimea man in connection with a residential burglary in Puako.

On Friday, officers responded to a report of a burglary in the 69-1600 block of Puako Beach Drive. Upon their arrival, officers learned a man was seen removing tools from an open garage before leaving the area of foot.

Officers tracked down 26-year-old Kyle Lusardi of Waimea and arrested him at the Puako Boat Ramp. All the stolen tools were recovered and returned to the owner.

Lusardi was charged with first-degree burglary and fourth-degree theft.

His bail was set at $5,250 and he’ll make his initial court appearance Monday.
