Kuikahi Mediation Center recently elected four new members to its board of directors.

The new members are vice president Cheryl Matsumura and directors Stan Golembeski, Cathy Lowder and Shaunda Liu Makaimoku.

Matsumura serves as president of American Trading Co. Born and raised in Hilo, she has more than 20 years of experience in investment management and was most recently a vice president at Goldman Sachs in the Investment Management Division.

Golembeski came to Hawaii to train as a Peace Corps volunteer. He later taught at Waiakea High School and served as vice principal at Laupahoehoe Community Public Charter School and principal at Ha‘aheo Elementary School.

Lowder arrived in Hawaii with Volunteers in Service to America and assigned to the Queen Lili‘uokalani Children’s Center.

She continued community youth outreach work and then moved to the Hawaii State Judiciary, where she worked for 35 years as a social worker.

Makaimoku is a compliance officer for the University of Hawaii at Hilo Equal Employment/Affirmative Action and Title IX office.

She has a degree from the UH-Manoa William S. Richardson School of Law and was a deputy prosecuting Attorney from 2004-17.

Also on the Kuikahi board are president Jennifer Zelko-Schlueter, treasurer Twylla Baptiste, secretary Julie Hugo and directors Doug Adams, Jeri Gertz, Jimi Kunimura, Jennifer Ng and Sandra Tokuuke.

Longtime board member and past president Andy Wilson was named a director emeritus.
