Carole “Aunty Carole” Sui Lan Miyamoto Kahele La‘a, 76, of Keaau died July 7 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo she retired from Hilo Walmart and worked for Kona Walmart, Minit Stop, Circle K, Gas Express, Dollar Car Rental and Duty Free Shoppers and was a kupuna of Alu Like Ke Ola Pono No Na Kupuna. Visitation 4-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at Dodo Mortuary chapel. Funeral service at 5 p.m. Graveside committal service noon Monday, Aug. 5, at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire. Margaret D. Mattos, 89, of Mountain View died July 7 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Papaikou, she was a retired flower packer for Hawaiian Anthurium Co-op, member and former president and vice president of East Hawaii Rose Society and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at Dodo Mortuary chapel. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire. Jinsei Nako, 101, of Mountain View died June 24 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Mountain View, he was a truck driver for the former Puna Sugar Co., anthurium farmer and gardener. Barbara Jean Kaililauokekoa Stremski, 86, of Hilo died June 16 at home. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired medical insurance authorization clerk for Hilo Medical Center, food and beverage manager for the former Naniloa Surf Hotel, union organizer and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, HGEA Retirees, ILWU Pensioners Club and Hilo Hospital Retirees Club.
