Robyn Marie Ching, 61 of Waikoloa died July 1 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, she was a bartender at Waikoloa Restaurant and Bar, and worked in the construction, health and service industries. Celebration of life 9 a.m. Saturday, July 27, at Haycraft Beach in Maalaea, Maui. Casual attire; loose flowers welcome. Survived by companion, Thomas Wheeler of Kona; sons, Patrick Ching of Lahaina, Maui, and Christopher Ching of Kahului, Maui; daughters, April Fetalvero of Westminster, Calif., and Jaymie (Brad) Balberdi of Kahului; brothers, Jens (Rebecca) Lerback of Woodburn, Ore., Joseph Lerback of Waikoloa, Jake (Carol Lorenzo) Lerback of Kona and Jensley Lerback of Lahaina; stepmother, Florence Lerback of Kona; stepfather, Richard Hill of Oregon; stepsisters, Laurie Kurozawa of Honolulu and Michelle Hill of Illinois; stepbrother, Vince Hill of Georgia; sister-in-law, Addie Madrid of Waikoloa; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Barbara Kaleiohawaii Manuwa, 85, of Hilo died July 10 in a private care home. Born in Hilo, she was a housewife. Visitation 4-5 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at Dodo Mortuary chapel. Survived by sons, William Manuwa Jr. of Hilo, Wendell (Nora) Manuwa of Arizona and Wade Manuwa of West Virginia; daughter, Kaleo (Shannon) Warfield of Waimea; brother, Miles (Rosalyn) Ioane of Arizona; sister, Noelani Kapuni of Hilo; three grandchildren; nephews, nieces and cousins. Edward “ET” Tavares, 89, of Hilo died July 14 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, he was a retired salesperson for Big Island Toyota and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Portuguese Cultural Club, Foresters Court Mauna Kea No. 8854 and Young Men’s Institute. Visitation 6-9 p.m. Monday, July 29, at Dodo Mortuary chapel. Wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation again 9-10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Section 7. Casual attire.
