Keoni Ka‘ineianu‘uanu Pe‘a Atkinson, 60, of Kailua-Kona died June 18 at Kona Community Hospital. He was a master kumu hula and entertainer known as “The Ambassador of Aloha.” Celebration of life 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at Sheraton Keauhou Kaleiopapa Convention Center. Macario Bios Balucan, aka Macario Anthony Kalei Balucan and “Uncle Tony,” 63, of Hilo died June 30 at Legacy of Hilo. Born in South Kona, he was a shoreline fisherman and member of First Assembly of God. Visitation 9-10 a.m. at First Assembly of God Church, 28-1104 Mamalahoa Highway in Pepeekeo. Service at 10 a.m. Private scattering of ashes at a later date. Survived by wife, Scarlet Sumi Balucan of Hilo; sons, Justin (Cyanne) Bondaug-Balucan of Keaau and Macario “TJ” Balucan of Hilo; daughter, Jonalynn Balucan of Las Vegas; brothers, Nario Libron of Kohala, John (Judy) Balucan and Denis (Audrey) Balucan of Kailua-Kona; brothers-in-law, David Magallanes of Kailua-Kona, Roy Horikoshi of Maui and Walter Horikoshi of Honolulu; sisters, Isabella Dela Cruz of Kailua-Kona, Felicia “Ann” Gragas of Mountain View, Patricia Segovia of Waimea and Matilda (Wayne) Cazimero of Kailua, Oahu; nine grandchildren.
