Born in San Francisco, he was a retired nuclear physicist for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and member of Center for Spiritual Living in Keaau. No services. Hubert Frances Griep, 89, of Volcano died July 9 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired district Sales Manager for the former GTE Yellow Pages. Masayo Seo Hamora, 86, of Virgie, Ky., formerly of Paauhau and Waimea, died July 15 in Kentucky. Born in Honokaa, she was a cook, housekeeper and owner of the former Masayo’s Deli in Waimea. Phil Slott, 76, of Waimea died July 10 in Waimea. Born in New York City, he was a creative director and advertising executive known for iconic slogans including Gillette’s “Never let ‘em see you sweat,” and the U.S. Navy’s “It’s not just a job, it’s an adventure.” He served in the Army Reserves and was a published author.
