Lewis Ira Glaser, 78, of Kailua-Kona died July 11 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Newark, N.J., he was a macadamia nut farmer and U.S. Army veteran. Graveside service noon Wednesday (July 17) at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona. Survived by companion, Carolyn Greenfeld of Kailua-Kona; sister, Evelyn (Harry) Glaser; a niece, 2 nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Stephanie “Stephie” Linda Moniz, 65, of Olaa, died June 15 at home. Born in Hakalau, she was a retired educational assistant for Pahoa High and Intermediate School, former chef at Roy’s, alaka‘i for Te Ha‘a Lehua and former member of Halau o Kekuhi. Visitation 2-3 p.m. Saturday (July 20) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Celebration of Life at 3 p.m. Casual attire. Survived by children, Carrie Pomai (Makana) Edens, Nichole Anela McGerity, Paul Ikaika Moniz and Brandy Cummings; partner, John Oliver; 13 brothers and eight sisters; nine grandsons, 9 granddaughters two great-grandsons and a great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews. Aranobu Shibuya, 94, of Captain Cook, died June 21 at home. Born in Keopuka Makai, he was a coffee and vegetable farmer, carpenter and U.S. Army National Guard veteran.
