“Redeemed & Restored … Life Viewed Through the Eyes of God” is the theme for the Big Island’s fifth annual Christian Women’s Gathering slated for 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 10 at Kahilu Town Hall in Waimea.

The interdenominational event features two keynote speakers, three breakout sessions, worship team, continental breakfast, full lunch catered by Dan-o’s Doner, plus a lineup of exhibitors.

Keynote speaker Jen McGeehan, founder and coordinator of the annual event, is the author of “My Year In A Yurt: God’s Blessings In A Tiny Lifestyle,” founder of iPods For The Elderly, a Clark Realty Realtor and resident of Paauilo. Her story of an unexpected heavenly revelation reveals God’s heart for her and her family.

Second keynote speaker, Cheri Skubic, travels to the Big Island from Redlands, Calif. She is a published author and international speaker and encourager. Her story of God’s revelation saved a life and helped answer her heartfelt prayers to enlarge her family.

The annual Christian Women’s Gathering is a supporter of local community needs and nonprofit organizations. This year’s special support goes to The Pregnancy Center of Kailua-Kona and Ohana Pregnancy Center of Hilo. Past gatherings raised funds for Habitat For Humanity, women’s shelters, the planting of trees, the creation and continuation of the iPods For The Elderly Program, Gideons International, Youth With A Mission and a memorial for a family who lost their son.

“It is always a privilege to partner with God in supporting a program or a need that is dear to His heart,” McGeehan said.
