Mental Health America of Hawaii recently honored the Big Island Substance Abuse Council by presenting it with the Outstanding Community Mental Health Leader award.

“We are so honored to receive such a prestigious award that recognizes organizations who align with Mental Health America of Hawaii’s mission to educate, advocate and enhance mental wellness.” said BISAC CEO Hannah Preston-Pita. “Our mission is to inspire positive change and help individuals reclaim their lives.”

Since 1964, BISAC has inspired individuals and families to reclaim and enrich their lives in the wake of the ravages of substance abuse and mental health. BISAC offers a continuum of services that are culturally appropriate and aligned with the ever-changing behavioral health field.
